Monitoring of TOC in Chemical Plant Wastewater
Date:2025-03-05 Browse: 4

After the use of pure water, it will change the original physical or chemical properties, and become a waste water containing different impurities. Among them, chemical wastewater is the process wastewater, cooling water and site flushing water discharged in the process of chemical production. If these wastes are discharged directly without treatment, it will cause water pollution, which will affect human health and the ecological environment, industry and agriculture.

Total organic carbon (TOC) monitoring is important in chemical plants!

The Chinese name of TOC is total organic carbon. Toc-8000 total Organic carbon online analyzer is used to detect TOC content in water. The instrument uses non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) colorimetry, and the pre-treated water sample is passed to the ultraviolet digester through an injection pump, where the inorganic carbon in the water sample is first converted into carbon dioxide under the action of a strong acid, and then escaped in a gas/liquid separator. The TOC in the water sample and the strong oxidant in the reagent are oxidized in the reactor to convert them into carbon dioxide gas, and the carbon dioxide gas is driven into the condenser through this carrier gas. When the condensed carbon dioxide gas filters out the carbon dioxide gas, there may be solid particles, and in addition, it will interfere with the material and then be sent to the non-dispersed infrared NDI for photoelectric signal measurement measurement chamber detection. The output signal of NDIR is closely related to the concentration of carbon dioxide gas and the total organic carbon in the water sample to be measured. By measuring the signal, the total organic carbon (TOC) content in the water sample can be detected.

Of course, this TOC water quality monitor is not only used in chemical factories, but also can monitor river surface water, industrial wastewater, sewage treatment plants, drinking water and so on.
