What is the harm of too high alkalinity?
In the case of relatively high pH value and salinity, water will make the toxicity of alkalinity enhanced, and its harm is not conducive to the normal growth of aquatic organisms. In some arid and semi-arid places in China, there are some waters with high alkalinity, and the species of economic aquatic organisms are obviously much less, or even none, resulting in the failure of the migration and domestication of salt-tolerant species, so that the growth rate of indigenous fish will be slowed down.
The total alkalinity in the water is too low.
Due to the pollution of the water quality, or some reasons of low salinity, the total alkalinity of the water is too low, which is likely to cause the following unfavorable conditions:
1.Ponds with low acidity usually consume a large amount of carbonate roots and bicarbonate roots, and in this process, the total alkalinity will gradually decline, and the alkalinity is too low to neutralize the more organic acids in the low quality, which cannot meet the decomposition activities of microorganisms on organic matter, resulting in difficulties in fertilizer and water;

3.For some shrimp, carbonic acid and bicarbonate will be consumed in the hard shell and growth process after the moulting of the shell. If the alkalinity is too low, it will cause the peeling failure of the shrimp, and it will stick to the shell and cannot come out.
