How It Works
The dissolved biodegradable organic matter in the water sample is assimilated by the bacteria in the microbial membrane, and the cell respiration intensity of the bacteria species is enhanced, while the quality of oxygen in the water is reduced. When the diffusion rate (mass) of the biodegradable organic matter in the water sample reaches a constant, the related biochemical reaction will be stabilized. At this time, there is a quantitative relationship between the optical signal and the concentration of biodegradable organic matter in the water sample, so the signal is converted into a current signal, amplified, analyzed and processed, and the BOD detection results can be directly displayed.
