Monitoring method
Use ultraviolet fluorescence method to measure the concentration of oil molecules in water.
Measurement Principle
Oil-8000 – OIL in Water Online analyzer is specially designed for measuring oil (hydrocarbon) concentration in water. The instrument uses ultraviolet fluorescence method to measure the concentration of oil molecules in water. Oil molecules are activated into an excited state under specific ultraviolet light. This excited state is very unstable and will return to the ground state soon. In the process of returning to the ground state, radiation fluorescence will be produced, and the concentration of oil molecules in the water sample is proportional to the intensity of radiation fluorescence emitted. The water sample is sent to the colorimetric tank after the pretreatment device. The light source is parallel to the oil molecules in the colorimetric tank water sample, and the resulting fluorescence is irradiated on the fluorescence sensor. Before the ultraviolet light is emitted and the fluorescence sensor is received, an accurate filter system is installed to control the emission wavelength of ultraviolet light and select the specific fluorescence wavelength scattered back by the received oil molecules. The received fluorescence intensity corresponds to the concentration of oil in the water sample to a certain extent, and the linear relationship can be made clearer by the selection and control of the transmission and reception wavelength of the filter light system.
